Why buy Stoneware?
Stoneware is much more durable than low fire Earthenware. The density and vitreous nature of stoneware allows kitchen
ware to be used in the oven, microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator. Stoneware bisque has been fired much hotter than
earthenware and stoneware is designed to be used. It is chip resistant and can withstand temperature changes over time.
Stone ware is a higher grade of clay than low fire earthenware, providing discriminating customers quality ware. An
example of stoneware that most are familiar with is a pizza stone. Below are characteristics of high fired stoneware verses
low fired earthenware.
